The English Toffee that we have every Christmas. When you make this toffee, you also make sweet Christmas memories.
Ingredients
- 1 C. Sugar
- 1 C. Butter
- 3 T. Karo Syrup
- 1 C. Chopped Pecans
- 2 Hershey Bars
Instructions
- Mix in a heavy skillet stirring constantly while it's boiling (15-30 minutes). Test mixture by dropping a bit in cold water to make sure it's brittle - it can't be chewy.
- Chop pecans and spread in the bottom of an unbuttered 9"x12" pan (cookie sheet).
- Pour toffee mixture on top of nuts.
- Take two Hersey bars and quickly put them over the toffee mixture. Cool.
