English Toffee

The English Toffee that we have every Christmas. When you make this toffee, you also make sweet Christmas memories.

Ingredients
  • 1 C. Sugar
  • 1 C. Butter
  • 3 T. Karo Syrup
  • 1 C. Chopped Pecans
  • 2 Hershey Bars
Instructions
  1. Mix in a heavy skillet stirring constantly while it's boiling (15-30 minutes). Test mixture by dropping a bit in cold water to make sure it's brittle - it can't be chewy.
  2. Chop pecans and spread in the bottom of an unbuttered 9"x12" pan (cookie sheet).
  3. Pour toffee mixture on top of nuts.
  4. Take two Hersey bars and quickly put them over the toffee mixture. Cool.
